Employees of a Chatham restoration firm are paying it forward for flood stricken residents of Thunder Bay.

Thunder Bay was declared a disaster area last week in the wake of an unprecedented flood that left the region in a state of emergency.

Ontario Premier Dalton has assured Thunder Bay Mayor Keith Hobbs, the community will be able to access funds provincially and will assist in obtaining federal funding.

The Salvation Army and the Canadian Red Cross have launched national appeals to assist to assist Thunder Bay residents.

More than 1,000 basements were flooded as much as knee deep as a result of the unprecedented rainfall.

“We’re on our way to help out in any way we can,” David Constancio of Winmar Chatham told The Daily News Monday.  “We appreciated the help we received from other Winmar locations last November when Chatham had a heavy rainfall.”

Th Chatham crew will likely bunk at a Lakehead University residence, as hotels in the city are overcrowded with flood-stricken residents.

John has been in the construction/renovation business in Prince George for over 5 years and is fully Clean Trust certified. John’s wife Lana will be instrumental on the day to day operations of the office.

They enjoy golfing, exploring the outdoors and spending time with their 3 children.
