In January 2008, a husband and wife team, Svilen and Jenny Velchev opened the Winmar New Glasgow location.  Drawn by the opportunity and beauty that Nova Scotia offers, the couple selected Pictou County as their new home.

Originally from Bulgaria, Svilen came to Canada in 2000.  Settling in Toronto, he opened his own general contracting business specializing in drywall installation.   Jenny, born and raised in the Maritimes, earned her Honours B.Sc. and B.A. from the University of Toronto.  After University she worked side-by-side with Svilen in their contracting business.  Their extensive experience doing property restoration prepared them to open their own restoration company.  Fortunately they were able to combine the opportunity of joining the Winmar family and growing their business with the desire to come home to the East Coast.

They have grown their business by aiming to reach one goal; to always leave customers satisfied.  Winmar New Glasgow has a very reputable staff with an extensive array of skills.  Each employee brings something to the company and every job.
