Salvation ArmyWinmar is a proud supporter of the local Salvation Army. The Salvation Army is present in 400 communities throughout Canada and more than 120 countries around the world, offering service in 175 different languages. When disaster strikes, the Army is often already there living in the community and is able to provide immediate aid and relief in the most culturally relevant way. It also means the Army will still be there long after the immediate needs have been met. |

Restoring Family Values InitiativeIn 2009 Winmar Guelph launched the “Restoring Family Values” initiative with the Guelph Police Service. Our goal is to assist the Guelph Police educate the youth of our community to lead safe and productive lives. KidsAbility Guelph/WellingtonIn 2007 Paul Schmidt, owner of Winmar Guelph and Winmar Orangeville met Haley Veit, a child using the services of KidsAbility. Upon hearing her story Paul realized that the work we do is simple compared to the work that Haley has accomplished, “this girl is an inpiration to all of us”. 2007 was Winmar Guelph’s 10th anniversary, Paul donated $10,000 to KidsAbility to assist them in helping the children of our community. Since then Winmar Guelph has been a committed sponsor of KidsAbility through their annual Fun Run/Walk held at the West End Rec Center every June.
