Water Damage

Clean Water

Clean Water is water at the releasing source that does not pose a hazard if consumed by humans. In a flood related situation, water can become progressively contaminated as it mixes with soils, on or with floor coverings or building assemblies (walls, decking, subfloors). Clean water can degrade to Grey Water as microorganisms amplify over time and with temperature fluctuations that promote growth. It is essential to deal with a water related issue in your home or business as soon as possible.

Grey Water

Grey Water contains a significant degree of biological, chemical or physical contaminants. Sources of Grey Water contamination include flooding from: toilet bowls with urine, appliance, sink and shower water discharge, and sump pump failures. Such incidents can pose significant health risks and result in extensive and expensive property damage. Areas contaminated by Grey Water will need to be treated immediately to prevent possible mould growth and mitigate further property damage.

Black Water

Black Water can pose an imminent health risk due to flooding from an extremely unsanitary source with harmful bacteria and contaminants. Typically, Black Water results from flood damage due to sewer back up, sea water, rising water from rivers or streams, seepage or ground surface water entering your home or untreated Grey Water. Serious illnesses or disease can result from exposure to Black Water. WINMAR® is experienced and armed with the specialized equipment to handle such extreme flooding emergencies.
